An exciting opportunity has been presented to me and two of my sons, Elijah and Nehemiah.  We will be working through the Bryan College Center for International Development, with the Romanian Evangelistic Medical Missions (R.E.M.M.) in Beius, Romania.   Over the past couple of years God has challenged us as a family to step outside the context of our everyday living and trust Him.  The Lord is growing our ministry here at home but also He has given us a desire to take the Gospel to the rest of the world.  This opportunity to serve in Romania is especially exciting to me as a mom to serve in the foreign mission field with two of my sons.

Last summer Elijah worked in Romania with R.E.M.M. for three weeks.  He spent time working with the girls at Casa Josef orphanage founded and operated by R.E.M.M.  Also he worked painting fences with recycled motor oil.  He did anything they needed him to do.  It was a great growing experience for him.  This will be Nehemiah’s first experience in the foreign mission field.  He has worked with mission teams from our church in Mississippi rebuilding after Hurricane Katrina.  I served on a mission trip to the Czech Republic in the fall of 2009 working with KVZ Students for Christ.  Since my trip I have continued to keep in touch with many of the Czech people I met while there.  We communicate through Skype, Facebook and email.  It has been a real opportunity to continue to serve them through encouraging words, mailing small gifts to them, staying in touch and praying for them.  I pray that the Lord will open the door for me to return to see them again one day on this earth. I am thrilled that the Lord has opened the door for me to go Romania March 17-30th, 2011 to work with women in the Beius community and I will be singing whenever possible.  I am traveling with a team of five for this trip.  I will have messages and photos posted from this trip on my blog listed below.

We began to pray about going to Romania in June and what we could do while there. We contacted Ana and Peter Lucaciu, the directors and founders of R.E.M.M.  Ana said a music camp “is a dream come true!”  The Lord began to pull together all the people needed to make this camp possible.  I am excited that Preston Kane will be joining us on our mission team.  God has brought together a team of musicians that are so excited about what we will be able to teach the children in Beius.  We will be spending time with the girls at Casa Josef while there but our main focus will be running a music camp for the full week of June 20 thru June 24th.  The camp has been planned a put together by our team.  We will have approx. 30 children that will attend the camp for that week.  This camp is designed and written by myself and Elijah.  We are really excited about what the Lord has put together! The Lord opened another exciting door for us.  We are planning to leave on June 9th, travel to the Czech Republic before going to Romania on June 15th. We are going to be attending the KVZ Students for Christ 20th Anniversary Celebration in Brno.  This is very exciting because this is the ministry I worked with on my first mission trip abroad as I mentioned above.  We will spend two days in Prague prayer walking before leaving for Romania on the 15th.  Keep us in your prayers!
We are excited about the opportunity and experience that lies ahead.  It will be exciting to see what the Lord will do with us while there and how we will grow in our dependence upon Him and our love for Him will be greater.  As you can imagine, a trip like this requires financial support from a number of people.  In order for this trip to be possible, the three of us have to raise a total of $8000.  The largest part of our cost is our airfare, approx. $4500 for all three, and this portion needs to be raised by April 15th.  It is very expensive to travel to Romania in the summer, but this is the best time to work with the children while they are out of school.  Our full amount needs to be reached by May 15th.  If you are able to support us in a financial way, we will be very grateful.  Most importantly, we need your support through prayer. Your prayers for us are the most valuable support we will ever need.  If you would like to be a part of this mission trip with financial support you can contact me via email for information.  Mission Trip Donation forms are available where donations can be made directly to R.E.M.M.  Donations made through their ministry are tax deductable.    Thank you for your time and consideration to support us through prayer and/or finances.  Let us know if there is anything that we can pray about for you and/or your family.

Sincerely and with the love of Christ,

Paula, Elijah and Nehemiah Daves
